Brian Fling

Brian FlingBrian is a recognized leader in both the web and mobile communities. Over the past ten years he has worked with a variety of Fortune 500 companies to build cool websites, web applications and mobile sites. In 1999 Brian got his first job working for a mobile company and has been active in the community ever since. He is a frequent author and speaker on the issues on strategy, mobile design, the mobile web and mobile user experience.

In 2005 Brian co-founded the Seattle-based interactive agency Blue Flavor, where he worked for three years helping companies of all types and sizes. While at Blue Flavor he co-created a series of iPhone web applications called Leaflets to showcase the concepts of Mobile 2.0 just two weeks after the iPhone launched. Brian also co-authored the dotMobi Mobile Web Developers Guide, the first free publication to cover mobile web design and development from start to finish. He runs one of the largest online communities focused on mobile design.

Cyndi Fling

Cyndi FlingCyndi is a recognized leader in keeping her husband and business partner Brian in line. Over the past 12 years, she has tirelessly supported Brian’s career, focusing on the details, managing all business aspects and keeping Brian’s limitless imagination in check with what is important. Cyndi is as crucial to Fling Media as Brian is, making sure projects go smoothly from start to finish. She also pulls double duty as mother to her daughter with Brian (her second full time job).

She has worked in retail operations management for companies like Eddie Bauer, Williams-Sonoma, Restoration Hardware and Kenneth Cole for over 10 years. She has been responsible for managing both large and small teams, being a leader and mentor to others. In 2006, Cyndi became Blue Flavor’s first employee serving as Office Manager, responsible for all accounts payable, receivables, human resources and the many other aspects of running a small business.


Together, Brian and Cyndi run Fling Media a small studio based in the garage of their Seattle home. As well as providing web and mobile design services, they are currently endeavoring to create six products in one year, sharing their experiences publicly at sixsites.com.
